As the gears start turning in earnest for the next NFL season, then Green Bay Packers fans will already be looking ahead to what may happen. Most will be eager to forget about the largely inconsistent 2018 season which saw a 6-9-1 finish for the team. This below par effort saw head coach Mike McCarthy replaced with the Tennessee Titan’s Matt LeFleur. All Packers fans will be hoping that this fresh injection of youthful energy will be enough to take the team at least into the playoffs in 2019.

But what exactly are the odds looking like for the Packers next season?

Green Bay given favorable odds to succeed

The great news for Packers fans is that the oddsmakers seem to think their chances are pretty high of having a good season in 2019. Odds released from Las Vegas show them pegged at 16/1 to win next year’s Superbowl which puts them toward the top of the betting. Many US states now allow online sportsbook gambling and this is a great way to keep up with the Packers odds as well. New Jersey is a frontrunner here and any Packer fans based there can head online to check out the team’s odds. Even better if you also play online casinos in NJ when there, you could win some money on slots or classic table games.

What will impact the Packers odds in 2019?

As noted above, odds are always changing as team’s add to their rosters and games start to be played. But what might affect the Packers odds of doing well in the coming season?

Getting the draft pick right

All NFL fans love the draft and the 2019 one just went down in Nashville, Tennessee. At the time of writing, Green Bay have selected Rashan Gary as their number 12 pick and Darnell Savage at pick 21. Both players have been selected mainly for their defensive qualities but also for the athleticism and talent they possess.

Arrival of new head coach Matt LeFleur

Mike McCarthy leaving after such a long time at the helm is a big change for the Packers. While new head coach Matt LeFleur is more than qualified to do well in his place, it remains to be seen as yet exactly how it will all work out. Needless to say, the ability of LeFleur to hit the ground running and perform to his best will have a massive impact on how the Packers do and their odds for 2019. If he can step up to the plate, especially in terms of calling offensive plays, then he could well be the difference for Green Bay this time around.

Getting Aaron Rodgers on board

There is no doubting the sheer talent QB Aaron Rodgers has for Green Bay. Key to the Packers odds for 2019 is LeFleur establishing a positive relationship with Rodgers along with giving the QB help to play his best game. If this platform is created, then the whole team should do better. One big goal for LeFleur is not only to beef up the defensive side of what Green Bay does but also make their offense much better as well.

Make the most of a helpful start

The 2019 Green Bay schedule is pretty kind in most parts, especially early on. The first game will be a tough away trip to the Bears but beyond that there is reason to be hopeful. 5 out of the first 7 games are at home and the Packers must make the most of this to start off well. If they can do this, then it will boost their odds for the whole season and give them the confidence to make the most of the rest of their 2019 schedule.

Green Bay look forward to a better 2019

What all the above shows is that 2019 is shaping up to be a good season for Green Bay. The winds of change which have seen new players and new coaches come into Wisconsin have given fans new hope for what may lie ahead. The odds that the Packer have got for the Superbowl right now reflect this and it will be interesting to see how they change as the season unfolds.
