While the one in this picture is likely a fake, this applies to all the fans whining and cursing their team. Seen just a handful of people here and there in all the Packers groups I follow decide that the 31-0 Lions loss at Lambeau was just too much to bear.
Losing isn’t something most Packers fans are used to. Then again, those that have followed the team for decades are very aware of what it feels like to see the Packers in a rut(See Also: 70’s and 80’s Green Bay Packers). This is the type of season that separates Packer fans from those that just think that shade of green looks good on them. It doesn’t, by the way. It makes you look fat.
You’ll be back. You always come back.
I personally loved the 70s and 80s. Lynn Dickey and Don Majkowski are gods to me.
Lynn Fuckin Dickey to James Lofton are some of my fondest memories from that era. The Majik Man was fun for a bit too later on. I think (hope) we will be a contender again before Rodgers has to tap out for good. Got to get a top notch O-line so he can hold the ball for ungodly amounts of time and never check down though. Improving both lines is where the Pack needs to start the comeback.
Yeah, the 70s had almost nothing, the 80s at least had a couple good years.
I did’nt leave during the 70’s and 80’s, not leaving now. I am highly agitated though cause this shit should never have happened. Any knowledgeable fan knew Thompson was an inept GM years ago just as we knew Murphy had no business being president. I mean c’mon, who did’nt see this coming? Well obviously, the clowns on the board of directors. I have yet to see one lousy article on how stupid these assholes are. The younger GB fans have no clue right now how close they are to living the 70’s and 80’s all over again. They drink the kool-aid and have no comprehension of what might come.
This is two bad seasons in a row for the Packers. I think we’re back to the 70s and 80s right now until Mark Murphy goes, even with Rodgers on the team. I bet McCarthy, wherever he goes, will get to the playoffs before the Packers get back to the playoffs.
I’ll still follow them like I did when I was a kid and they didn’t win anything. I think most fans will still follow them as they have so much history with Herber, Starr, Favre, Rodgers, etc.
My love for this team started on Dec 3, 1967 as i Watched Bart sneak it in on TV in my parents basement…
I Was at games in Phoenix when they didnt lose to give Dallas 1st pick (Aikman) and then pick Mandarich as #2. Was also at game in Phoenix to see Majiks career come to an end …
The 80s was all about avoiding being swept by Chi. Majik did us that favor in class style a few times…
My biggest thrill – going to Lambeau Xmas night w my daughter to see #12 clobber da Bears while wearing the Bart Starr jersey she gave me as a gift …
We’ll survive this – small steps – this year rebuild – sweep the bears and end the ugly losing steak v Det….
ICEBOWL, I was at the same game in Phoenix my man. Aikman was all locked up, until the Packers decided to play that day. Good times!
Lol Empacador….
I had seats in end zone – Cowboys fans sitting behind me cheering for the Packers….
I seem to remember GB running back opening KO for TD…. One of 3 wins that season ???
The 80s coulda been way different had they grabbed Troy….!
How long you been a GB fan ?
