Bring On Jake Kumerow!

The Green Bay Packers are finally pulling the trigger on the Jake Kumerow era.

According to Demovsky, the team will activate Kumerow today. Whose roster spot he’s taking isn’t known yet, but the Packers have plenty of candidates for injured reserve at the moment.

Kumerow has been on injured reserve since the season began because of a shoulder injury. He injured said shoulder somersaulting into the end zone on a touchdown. So it’s possible Kumerow isn’t that bright, but he sure is dynamic.

The kid had six catches for 190 yards in the two preseason contests he played in. That included touchdowns of 52 and 82 yards.

Kumerow originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015 out of UW-Whitewater. He’s bounced around a bit since then, including stints on both the Patriots and Packers practice squads. He is yet to catch a regular season NFL pass.

However, there’s a good chance that will change. Aaron Rodgers has raved about Kumerow. If you get a Rodgers’ rave and you’re a receiver for the Packers, you’re getting the ball so long as you can get on the field.

The Packers aren’t exactly the picture of health at receiver either. Trevor Davis is down with a hamstring injury again. Randall Cobb has only played five games. Tight end Jimmy Graham has a frickin’ broken thumb. It’s pretty much Davante Adams — best receiver in the game — and the three rookies, only two of which play.
