Packers Add Safety Eddie Pleasant

The Green Bay Packers have added another safety to their roster, signing Eddie Pleasant.

Pleasant was originally an undrafted free agent signed by Houston in 2012. He played collegiately at Oregon.

Pleasant lasted until 2017 with the Texans, largely as a special teams player. He spent this offseason with New England before getting released. Pleasant also appeared in one game for the Arizona Cardinals this season.

Pleasant has 117 career tackles, 2.5 sacks, three interceptions and 17 passes defended.

Naturally, one roster move requires a corresponding one. That brought the release of linebacker Korey Toomer.

Toomer was picked up by the Packers late in the offseason after being released by the 49ers. He appeared in seven games for the team this season, recording three tackles.

He hadn’t played a defensive snap since week 4.
