It wasn’t the smartest move. It resulted in a 15-yard penalty that was actually enforced on linebacker Blake Martinez. However, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was not going to take any shit from Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Alexander shoved Allen to the ground late in the first half of the Packers’ shutout win over the Bills on Sunday. Apparently, Alexander didn’t like the shit Allen was talking.
#Packers CB Jaire Alexander on his interaction w/ Josh Allen: “Rookie on rookie, he was trying to talk some junk out there. I was like man, I ain’t having that. Quarterback? I don’t care. He did a good acting job, he sold it, but at the end of the day he was on the ground.”

For one thing, you have to like the swagger on the kid. On the other hand, if the game was close, it could have been a costly penalty.
You have to wonder what Allen was talking shit about.
Alexander picked Allen later on the drive. It was one of two interceptions Allen threw on the day. He finished with a 36.3 rating. That’s not much of a day.
Alexander, meanwhile, has been as advertised. He is the Packers’ highest-graded cornerback on the season at 75.4.
No the penalty was on Martinez from the start. Unsportsmanlike conduct, removing helmet. There was never going to be a call on Alexander. They both lightly shoved each other with Allen starting it, then Allen flopped. If it was the NHL they would fine Allen for diving/flopping.
Huge flop indeed.
