You’re forgiven if you don’t know who James Crawford is. He was signed by the Green Bay Packers back on August 8 after going undrafted out of Illinois. His biggest claim to fame might be that he’s related to Charles Woodson.
Crawford is Woodson’s nephew.
Woodson was recently in Green Bay and stopped by the Packers locker room to hang with Crawford. He gave him a shoutout today.
Despite getting a later start than his teammates, the linebacker was impressive enough to stick on the final roster. Crawford is listed as an inside linebacker, but he’s also played outside after playing defensive end in college.
Crawford hasn’t gotten any playing time yet, at least on defense. He hasn’t been on the game-day inactive list, either. So that’s a good sign.
I would absolutely love to see Woodson brought back into the fold in GB as a position coach at some point.
