The Green Bay Packers lost the right side of their offensive line on Sunday. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga (always injured) and right guard Justin McCray both went down.
Bulaga will apparently be able to play this week, but McCray won’t.
That will thrust Byron Bell into the starting lineup.
Bell was initially brought in as a tackle. He’s now a guard. So what the hell?
Bell may have been a better candidate to be a guard all along. However, he has made starts at both left and right tackle for the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers plugged the disappointment that is Jason Spriggs in at right tackle after Bulaga went down on Sunday.
That will leave the guard spot to Bell.
The Packers are preparing to start Byron Bell at right guard Sunday against the Bills, a source said. Justin McCray's shoulder injury is not believed to be a long-term issue but no word on the exact prognosis. https://t.co/wdtQtwKo1Q

And honestly, don’t really care. It’s not like McCray has been great. Can’t see how Bell could be worse.
Did Gute lose Jahri Evans’ phone number? He’s just hanging out there with no team, he’s affordable, and even at 35 – he’s an upgrade over Spriggs and Bell combined.
WTF
Yes. Evan’s did well I thought. Typical Packers management. Bad drugs!
Left guard or right guard? At this point what difference does it make? In your title you had me wondering if something happened to Taylor
yea
Packers scouting has no clue on OL and LBs. Seriously whats the issue with at least bringing in Jahri and taking a look? He didn’t fall off the table that bad at the end of last year.
Play Bell and Spriggs, play Kizer, allow Rodgers, McCray, and Bulaga to heal…
…and run Aaron Jones 15-20 carries.
We all complain about this team having too many injuries, but then we demand they keep playing injured guys. It’s stupid.
Let the healing begin. Stop putting it off.
Can’t argue with much that. Isn’t that why you have back up players? I guess next man up sounds good…when you have some depth.
I guess the headline is like the comments section, after it’s submitted, theres no editing it…
*Right Guard
Really, in a month you play the Rams. Has anyone watched the Rams so far?
For those who have illusions of this team going to the big show, get over them. It is doubtful this year. Could it happen? Sure, anything can happen, but the odds are usually with the better team. This team has a ways to go because there are better teams with better coaches and GMs (than the previous, I will give Gute a chance).
100% agreed, but it’s also not like the Packers were particularly great in 2010 either. They barely made the playoffs, only after winning the tiebreaker scenario with the Giants and Bucs.
But they started to gel in the last couple weeks of the season and got hot at the perfect time.
Not saying this team is anywhere near the talent level of that team (it’s not), but I guess I’m in a glass-half-full mood today, mainly because it’s Friday and a payday. Might not last past Sunday though, haha.
