The Green Bay Packers threw up 51 on the Pittsburgh Steelers en route to a 51-34 win in their second preseason game.
Aaron Rodgers got his first and presumably only preseason action on Thursday night and promptly threw a touchdown in the four passes he tossed. Not particularly surprising, to say the least.
Can you believe we have Jimmy Graham? Aaron Rodgers throwing to Jimmy Graham? I mean, c’mon.
The real hero, if you want to get into that was DeShone Kizer, who went 7-of-12 for 149 yards and two touchdowns. It’s almost as if he’s rehabilitated after playing for the Browns.
Who was the winner on the other side? Jake Kumerow.
Three catches for 114 yards and a touch. Who told that guy to be a deep threat?
Does Kumerow deserve a roster spot? I would say he does. None of the Packers’ rookie receivers did much of anything. But this is still a game of potential. So Kumerow is in fact still likely in jeopardy, even though he’s done everything right.
Defensively for the Packers, not a lot to speak of. They did give up 34 points after all.
If there’s one guy we are keeping our eye on, it’s rookie Oren Burks.
He continues to get opportunities and he continues to make plays.
Burks could well be a solid contributor when the regular season rolls around.
Of course, all in all, preseason. Just delightful.
Can we play some real ball soon?
