Most of us expect Kevin King to turn into the top-flight cornerback the Green Bay Packers expected him to be when they drafted him last year, this year.
Now that he’s done with the shoulder injury that has supposedly bothered him since college — it was operated on late in 2017 — King should be ready to fill that role.
And it appears he is.
King has been regularly going up against the Packers’ now undisputed No. 1 receiver in camp, Davante Adams. And what has he been doing against Adams?
Experimenting.
This Kevin King quote didn’t make it into our story today, but feel it’s worth your time. It’s about as good a summation as I’ve heard in eight NFL training camps about the dangers of social media and rushing to draw conclusions on what’s happening at practice #Packers pic.twitter.com/6ZMwTmW3NO

While I might debate whether Davante Adams is one of the top five receivers in the league, I will not debate the experience King gets going against him every day.
You want to give your top corner experience like that.
Test him. Go at him. Do it early and often.
Kevin King can be a No. 1 cornerback. He’s not yet, but he has the ability to be. That’s why the Green Bay Packers drafted him.
We’ve heard about several of the Packers’ corners picking off Aaron Rodgers in camp. King has been among those. Rodgers isn’t going to throw those same balls in the regular season. You can count on that.
However, it looks like Kevin King is what he was supposed to be.
