Former Green Bay Packers guard T.J. Lang played in his share of charity softball games. He says he warned Clay Matthews.
The Packers linebacker took a line drive to the face on Saturday during this year’s charity game. It was not pretty. Matthews broke his nose and will have surgery this week.
Lang was on Pat McAfee’s radio show on Monday and told the former NFL punter he warned Matthews about this very thing years ago. Matthews has long been a pitcher in the game and Lang says he told his former teammate someone was going to eventually get hit with a line drive.
Lang says he suggested that there be a screen in front of the pitcher.
Matthews obviously didn’t listen. Only after he was hit did they put up a batting practice screen in front of the mound.
Listen to Lang’s take here.
Former Packer @TJLang70 always knew they should put up a net in front of the pitcher at the Packers charity softball game 😂 @PatMcAfeeShow pic.twitter.com/92cOYh2Tit
