The Green Bay Packers charity softball game is happening today. We presume this is what used to be the Jordy Nelson charity softball game. However, the actual interesting thing here is linebacker Clay Matthews took a line drive to the face.
Matthews was pitching to offensive lineman Lucas Patrick and… look out!

That must have hurt.
Matthews walked off immediately covering his face and hadn’t returned to the field as of the time of this post. We doubt he does return to the field.
Here he is walking off.

After the incident, a screen was put in front of the pitcher’s mound.

Matthews is apparently fine, but the game was paused temporarily. It was resumed.

Nope. Broken nose. Surgery when the swelling goes down.
I guess Clay couldn’t wait until the regular season to hop on the injury report. At least you don’t need a nose to play linebacker.
Not the year of the hammy. Not the year of the high ankle sprain. Not even an on again, off again groin injury. No, this year will be the year of the recurring schnoz injury.
