I’ve always liked Andre Rison. Bad Moon Rison.
This is, of course, even before he had a cup of coffee with the Green Bay Packers. Rison was one of the best receivers in the league back in his Atlanta Falcons days. Hell, he dated Left Eye, who then burned down his house, but you know, passion.
The Packers and Ron Wolf picked up Rison late in the 1996 season after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
His official stat line is this: five games played, 13 catches, 135 yards and a touchdown.
And then, 54 yards in the Super Bowl.

But Rison played most of his career with the Falcons. He played more years with the Chiefs. He played more games with the Colts, Jaguars, Browns and Raiders.
Still, somehow he remains a Green Bay Packer and seems to want to. I guess a ring will do that.
Here’s this cat at Summerfest rocking his old No. 84.

Five games and a Super Bowl run. Hell, we’ll never forget Andre Rison. Might as well be a Packer for life.
You mean he still remained a Packer right up until he didn’t care enough to know where his Super Bowl ring was because Holmgren allegedly lied to him? That kind of Packer? Or have we moved past that now? I guess he could have protested his treatment by like threatening to retire every season or perhaps by taking a knee. Those moves definitely draw attention to one’s cause.

I thought there was a report in the ’90s that he threw his ring in a lake?
