Eventually, it seems like quarterback Joe Callahan will be on every NFL team. After being released by the Green Bay Packers earlier this week, Callahan is being brought on by the Philadelphia Eagles.
There, he’ll join Carson Wentz, who is still rehabbing a torn ACL, Super Bowl hero Nick Foles and the completely-unaccomplished Nate Sudfeld. So, seemingly, Callahan might be able to play his way onto the roster by beating out Sudfeld.
And then he’ll probably get released by the Eagles either during the season or after it.
Here’s a brief history of Callahan’s NFL journey thus far.
2016: Makes Packers’ roster, gets released in October. Claimed on waivers by the New Orleans Saints the next day. Gets released by Saints just over a week later. Claimed on waivers by Cleveland Browns. Gets released a little more than a month later. Signed to Packers’ practice squad in December. Makes active roster again later that month.
2017: Doesn’t make the Packers’ opening-day roster. Gets a practice squad slot instead. Brought up to the active roster in October. Gets released again in December, but is re-signed three days later.
2018: Gets released by Packers at the end of April. Signs with the Philadelphia Eagles two days later.
After his football career is over, Callahan can become a spokesman for temporary housing. He certainly knows the positives of the industry.
