This may be the most notable thing receiver Trevor Davis has done since becoming a member of the Green Bay Packers. That’s unfortunate, since it’s not positive.
Davis was arrested at LAX on Sunday for making criminal threats. What does that mean? It means Davis is an idiot.
“Yesterday, Trevor Davis checked in at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter and was asked the usual questions about whether he was carrying any aerosol cans, knives, weapons or explosives,” public information officer Rob Pedregon said. “Davis turned to his female companion and asked if she remembered to pack the explosives. He was then taken into custody and booked.”
Davis has since been released and will have a May 3 court date. Ironically, this is a guy who went to Cal, considered to be one of the elite academic schools in the U.S. Apparently he didn’t take Airport Etiquette 101.
Since being drafted in the fifth round in 2016, Davis has largely been a non-factor on the football field. He has just eight career receptions for 94 yards. Davis was drafted to infuse some speed into the Packers’ receiving corps, but his contributions have really only come on special teams.
In 2017, Davis took over as the Packers’ full-time return man. He averaged 22.8 yards on kickoff returns and 12.0 on punt returns. He will likely have to retain those jobs to make the team in 2018.
