Andre Rison’s tenure with the Green Bay Packers was brief. A partial season, five games. Rison was picked up after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. A shrewd Ron Wolf move in the middle of the season that fortified an already stout receiving corps, which already included Antonio “Stone Hands” Freeman, Don Beebe, an injured Robert Brooks and tight ends Mark Chmura and Keith Jackson.
Rison, one of the best receivers in the game during his tenure with Atlanta from 1989 to 1994, caught just 13 passes for 135 yards in those five games with the Packers. But as we all know, the guy could still turn on the jets and he did it in the Super Bowl.

Rison hauled in the first score of the game right there. That’s where the Brett Favre running with his helmet off photo comes from. Yeah, you could do that back in the day and not get penalized. I also love that Rison strutted into the end zone Bad Moon Rison style.
The Packers, thanks largely to MVP Desmond Howard and three sacks by the all-time great Reggie White, beat the Patriots 35-21.
That would be Rison, Favre, White and Howard’s only Super Bowl ring.
Andre Rison hasn’t forgotten. He hasn’t forgotten breaking that coverage, the guy who threw him that perfect pass and that championship. And neither will we.
This young fella tossed me a 54-yard TD pass that @packers fans will never forget, and neither will I. #SBXXXI #TeammatesForLife #TBT @BrettFavre pic.twitter.com/MJhBXtsDfQ
