If you’re a free agent defensive back, you can probably find work with the Green Bay Packers if you want it. After being connected to Richard Sherman, who signed with San Francisco, and Trumaine Johnson, who will hit free agency this week, the Packers are now being connected to Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie.
Sources are telling me the #Packers #Raiders #Patriots #Titans #49ers and #Chargers have already expressed early interest in CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Rodgers-Cromartie was released by the New York Giants after he refused to accept a pay cut.
As attractive as Johnson is and Sherman was, albeit less so, Rodgers-Cromartie kind of gives me this reaction.
Meh.
He’ll be 32 next month and is clearly on the downside of his career. Of course, if he signed with the Packers, he’d still probably be the best defensive back on the roster. Rodgers-Cromartie didn’t record an interception in 2017 and only knocked down one pass in 15 games. Still, he got a 77.2 grade from Pro Football Focus. The year before, when he had six interceptions, Rodgers-Cromartie graded out at 89.9.
It’s certainly possible he has a little left in the tank.
It’s also interesting that you hear the same teams pop up in relation to free agent cornerbacks. The 49ers, Raiders and Titans were also in on Sherman. The Raiders are said to be hot after Johnson.
So we know who the Packers’ competition for the available cornerbacks will be. Perhaps if the Raiders were to sign Rodgers-Cromartie, that would loosen things up for the Packers on Johnson.
No.
