Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey was asked who the NFL’s version of Rockets guard James Harden is. His answer? Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The rationale is that most people wouldn’t call Rodgers the best quarterback in the NFL, just like they don’t call Harden the best player in the NBA. Of course, most Packers fans would say Rodgers is the best, maybe not of all time, but there are arguments to be made.
I don’t know too many informed people who think James Harden is the best player in the NBA. Sure, everyone in east Texas probably does, but LeBron James is still the best player in the NBA. You could probably argue that other players are better than Harden as well — Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant…
Harden will probably win the MVP this season, though.
At any rate, what I perhaps find most interesting here is that Morey is from Wisconsin. Baraboo, to be exact. So clearly he’s a Packers fan.
Here’s the argument.

Well that was a dumb comparison. All he said was that Packers fans think Aaron Rodgers is the best despite what other people think, and that Houston fans think Harden is the best despite what other people think. He also said the Packers offense is pass oriented, and James Harden likes to pass a lot as well. Groundbreaking.
Cheese, dumb is right. But….. this time of year we’re going get a lot of worthless stories that Packer chumps like myself are going to read. Tough beans.
