Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said assistant head coach and linebackers coach Winston Moss will get an opportunity to interview for the vacant defensive coordinator position. However, we’re hearing Moss may not even be with the team when it’s all said and done.
Moss interviewed with the Detroit Lions for their vacant head coaching position, this week. There were rumors floating around that McCarthy wanted Moss to get that job. It wasn’t because he wants Moss to rise up the ranks. It was because he didn’t want him on the Packers’ staff anymore.
It seems doubtful that Moss will get the Lions’ job. Patriots’ defensive coordinator Matt Patricia appears to be the leader for that job. Moss was probably just a Rooney Rule interview.
Now we’re hearing that if Moss isn’t named the Packers’ defensive coordinator, which isn’t likely, he’ll be let go.
It’s an interesting time in Green Bay.
Moss was just last year given the assistant head coach title. Former offensive coordinator Tom Clements held that title prior to Moss. It might be the kiss the death — Clements was let go following the 2016 season.
So, McCarthy wants Moss to go to the Lions because McCarthy doesn’t want to or won’t fire him? Because McCarthy doesn’t want Moss around anymore? I guess that is right on par with McCarthy thinking the new GM needs to mesh with McCarthy huh? Where’s that clown music at…
I had my few days of being angry….all done my fine Packer friends.
The time is here to revert back and appreciate the entertainment value of everything dealing with present day G. B. Packers. Some comical, some sarcasm, some comical satire, some more sarcasm, some biting harsh reality discovery, more NFC North rival team and fan verbal beat downs and just for good measure, i might even throw in some more sarcasm.
Hopefully he’s out because I cant stand the fact that this guy looks bad ass but coaches like hes never been past YMCA league level.
