The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame has revealed their class of 2018. Tackle Mark Tauscher and kicker Ryan Longwell will be inducted into the Hall in July.
Longwell was the Packers’ all-time leading scorer, with 1,054 points, but he was surpassed for that distinction by current kicker Mason Crosby in 2015.
Longwell kicked nine seasons with the Packers, before kicking six more with the Minnesota Vikings. Despite finishing his career with Minnesota, Longwell did the right thing and officially retired as a Packer in 2013.
Tauscher played 11 seasons for the Packers, anchoring the right tackle spot during that time. The former seventh-round pick from Wisconsin started 14 games as a rookie and other than injury, didn’t leave the lineup until 2009. The Packers decided they were done with Tauscher prior to that season and didn’t re-sign him.
Four games into the 2009 season, they realized their replacement plans were not adequate and Tauscher was brought back. A shoulder injury ended his 2010 season after four games and that would be his final run with the Packers. They released him during the 2011 offseason.
Although not a hugely exciting class, two guys that well deserve the honor.
Yes Sir
Longwell did some good work for the Vikings. He should be honored.
No one gives a fuck
