The Green Bay Packers trotted out their assistant coaches for press conferences, today. The hot topic with defensive coordinator Dom Capers was his future.
After another disappointing year on defense, most people think Capers’ time may finally be up. Coach Mike McCarthy says he will evaluate the coaching staff after the season, but seemed to suggest he’s disappointed in the defense.
What does Capers think? He doesn’t sound too confident.
“My plans are from week to week in this business, you learn that after 32 years in the league. My plan right now is try to get the guys ready to go win the game against the Lions. … One thing I’ve learned in a long career, you don’t spend any time in this business concerning yourself with things you can’t control.”
The Packers are currently ranked 22nd in total defense and 21st in scoring defense. That’s not really the full story though. Once again, the team’s pass defense has been abysmal.
Capers has been with the Packers since 2009. He hasn’t had a top-10 ranked defense since 2010. There has been some mild success here and there, but nothing sustained. Since 2010, the Packers’ defensive rankings have been: 2011 – 32nd, 2012 – 11th, 2013 – 25th, 2014 – 15th, 2015 – 15th and 2016 – 22nd.
This may finally be the year.
Good riddance you fucking turd!!!!!!! I never liked you when mcfatass hired you, i fucking hate you now!!!
Dude, I think he needs to go too but you may want to get some help for that anger.
As far as the problems of the Green Bay Packers, Firing Capers is like a Doctor putting band aids over leprosy and declaring the patient healed..
