The Green Bay Packers have a meaningless game against the Minnesota Vikings this Saturday and they’ll be without their best receiver. Davante Adams has been ruled out with a concussion.
Adams suffered the injury on an illegal blindside hit by Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis on Sunday.
Although the Packers have said they won’t shut Adams down for the season, there is talk that that now might be the case.
This is Adams’ second concussion on the season. He suffered the first on an illegal hit by Chicago Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan early in the season.
On the year, Adams has 10 touchdowns, which is second in the league. He also has 74 catches (12th) for 885 yards (16th). Adams racked up 46 catches for 543 yards and five touchdowns with Brett Hundley at quarterback. He was the only consistent receiver the Packers had with Hundley at quarterback, which will again be the case in the final two games now that Aaron Rodgers has been put on injured reserve again.
Regardless of what transpires over the next two games, Adams is in a contract season and should be priority No. 1 for the Packers this offseason.
