As if putting the best quarterback of his generation on injured reserve wasn’t enough. The Green Bay Packers did some more work on Friday.
Gone are safety Kentrell Brice and long snapper Taybor Pepper.
Both have been put on injured reserve.
Pepper is probably the bigger loss.
BECAUSE WHO COULD EVER POSSIBLY SNAP THAT BALL!?!?!
I don’t know? Could someone who snaps the ball on a regular basis possibly do this job?
But you and I both know that the Green Bay Packers’ center cannot long snap! That’s too specialized.
I CANNOT DO MORE THAN ONE THING WITH THIS FOOTBALL!
Anyway, Kentrell Brice and Taybor Pepper are out. This is the second long snapper the Packers have gone through this season. They previously put Brett Goode on injured reserve.
The team brought back Derek Hart, who was with them in training camp, to handle Pepper’s duties.
Probably more interesting is the Packers also activated rookie linebacker Vince Biegel, who had been on the physically unable to perform list. Biegel had foot surgery in May and hadn’t participated in training camp.
Biegel was expected to bolster the Packers’ pass rush, which has been largely dormant this season. We’re not going to expect him to come in and be a savior in that area, but maybe he can provide something more than Kyler Fackrell has.
The Packers also brought rookie cornerback Donatello Brown up from the practice squad. Brown was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State. He has been on the practice squad all season.
And hell, with how the Packers’ corners have performed this season, he might even just get some playing time.
Why didn’t I see my future when I was in College. Forget a degree…practice long snapping. You think there is a shortage of teachers etc? Long-Snappers are like Bigfoot it seems. Plus who wouldn’t want to say they were a Long-Snapper when someone asks.
A friend on mine’s son had a 16 year career as a NFL long snapper. Made about $10M in the process and became the team’s all-time longest tenured player.
My kids aren’t going to be big enough for that position, but there’s always punting and place kicking as positions to play in the game without having to worry about your brains being scrambled.
Back a ways, i worked for the Father of a NFL long snapper, play 6-10 snaps a game, make millions. Not bad work if you can get it.
Wtf happened to Brice?
Mordecai knows next to nothing about football and it shows from his sheer lack of understand of the specialized art of long snapping, which requires the ball to be snapped like 7 yards on a line to the holder as quickly as possible to avoid the possibility of being blocked. Also the rotations matter, as it is preferred for the laces to be up when caught by the holder or punter. Fucking idiot. Maybe they should just find a long snapper and try and make him a starting quality center.
Bryce? He had the misfortune of playing for the Packers.
