Is it possible that Aaron Jones could be back for the Green Bay Packers this week? It appears so.
Jones has missed the previous two games with the knee injury, but he practiced for the first time since that injury on Wednesday.
Jones has just 70 carries, but 370 yards for a 5.3 average on the season. In other words, he’s been tearing it up.
While Jamaal Williams has been solid in the past two weeks, particularly in the passing game, he doesn’t pack the rushing punch that Jones does. He’s averaging just 3.2 yards per carry on the ground.
The team is also looking better on the defensive side of the ball. Outside linebacker Clay Matthews (groin) and defensive tackle Kenny Clark (ankle) both practiced on Wednesday, as well.
Both players were scratches for the Packers’ game in Pittsburgh. The biggest detriment to the team there was lack of any sort of pass rush. The team had just one sack and two QB hits.
Although Matthews has just 3.5 sacks this season, he’s played well overall. Certainly, if Clark and Matthews are able to return, they’d be much better off in the pass rush department.
