The mullet is back. The Green Bay Packers have their third long snapper of the season in Brett Goode, who was also their first long snapper of the season.
Goode injured a hamstring and was put on injured reserve after week 3. However, the Packers later released him with an injury settlement, so this is not a designated to return situation.
So the long snapper situation has gone like this.
Brett Goode to IR. Taybor Pepper in. Taybor Pepper to IR. Derek Hart in. Brett Goode back in. Derek Hart released.
The Packers and kicker Mason Crosby have struggled on field goals at points during the season. Those struggles have largely been blamed on the snappers other than Goode. However, Crosby is also breaking in a new holder in punter Justin Vogel.
Crosby is 11-for-14 on field goals and has had one blocked. He’s 21-for-23 on extra points.
Because Corey Linsley doesn’t know how to snap a long ball??
They couldn’t use Goode’s salary to keep Tretter around to be a solid backup/ future starter/ long snapper? How did that not cross the minds of the team of coaches that prides themselves on having “hybrid players” (conversion projects) at damn near every position? Can Goode fill in for Bulaga, Linsley, Baktiari, or whatever no name when they go down? Ted probably didn’t even offer Tretter a contract, like he’s done so many others. #Draft&Discard
This.^^^
Omfg. Long snapping is something that is a specialty. You dumb motherfuckers, do me a favor, and look on every NFL roster and tell me how many centers on rosters are also the longsnapper.
Just looked on the patriots roster, they have a long snapper. Ditto for the Chiefs. And Seahawks. And I am calling it quits on that exercise. Waste of time.
People, people, people……
Let’s try to stay focused on the prize. The Green Bay Packers road to the Super Bowl.
