Knowing Bart Starr, he probably wouldn’t like that headline all that much. However, I have a hard time containing my exuberance whenever the greatest quarterback in Green Bay Packers’ history is making an appearance.
If you read this site on a regular basis, you know my basic argument for that distinction. But I could honestly blather on and on about why Starr was greater than Brett Favre and why, to date, he is greater than Aaron Rodgers.
I won’t bore you with those reasons now, but suffice it to say he’s better than Aaron Rodgers because he had a GM who was worth a shit.
That aside, Bryan Bartlett Starr, baby!
I don’t know if this was planned all along or if it’s just synchronicity. Bart Starr will be in town for the Saints game on Sunday, i.e. the start of the Brett Hundley era.
The last time Starr was in town, it was for Brett Favre’s jersey retirement — Thanksgiving in 2015. It was debacle. The Packers crapped all over our turkey in a 17-13 loss.
We’ll call it the curse of Brett Favre, since every time he’s in town the Packers lose.
Bart? Bring us some luck, baby!
The old man is in for a bad stroke after he sees our 3-and-out offense and bend-but-also-break defense.
Ouch…..I hope he’ll be a motivator
Mr Starr is one of the classiest guys ever to step on an NFL field and THE classiest ever to win a game played at Lambeau at windchill of -48 degF….
