Who would claim a third-string quarterback, we said? The New Orleans Saints, apparently.
Ironically, the Saints also claimed Joe Callahan last year after the Green Bay Packers released him. They claimed this year’s preseason hero, Taysom Hill, after the Packers released him on Saturday.
The bigger loss for the Packers, in terms of actual potential contribution, is defensive lineman Brian Price. He was claimed by the Dallas Cowboys.
Hill flashed real potential in the preseason and the Packers certainly wanted to keep him around on the practice squad, but no dice.
We had Price on our final roster, but he clearly lost out Christian Ringo in the Packers’ eyes.
And while we all might be salty about these two losses, let’s step back into reality for a moment. Bottom-of-the-roster guys don’t really matter.
The regular season starts next week and it’s all going to be on Aaron Rodgers, just like it always is.
And so is Jayrone Elliott.
Any bets Elliot doesn’t pass his physical with Dallas?
I got that covered…..
If i win, you stop drinking cold turkey, if i lose i tell Mordecai he’s a great sports writer.
The one losing this bet could have a more painful experience than losing money. Your on! :-)
That could be. What will the packers do in that scenario, reach an injury settlement?
Bottom of the roster guys don’t matter? See Bostick, Brandon. See Tyree, David.
Ouch.. the truth hurts..
Who cares about these two non factors. What I would like to know is, of all the players cut this weekend, our gay caballero freakishly unsocial and pathetically overrated GM couldn’t find any OL to replace or mprove upon the pile of garbage he’s kept?? Spiggs and Murphy may both be playing before the Seattle game is over! Aaron Rodgers RIP.
