So, I can’t quite get over the fact that Danny Trevanton hit Davante Adams straight on with his helmet, defenseless receiver and didn’t get thrown out of the game.
The Green Bay Packers whooped the Chicago Bears’ ass 35-14 on Thursday night without two starting tackles. That should be embarrassing enough.
It isn’t quite right by my account, though. After that bullshit hit on Adams, I wanted a win by 75. The Packers didn’t comply.
I related stories of Mark Lee and Kenny Stills as I sat at the bar. Those motherfuckers never would have stood for that shit against the Bears. We stood for it, though.

I mean, huh?
Not thrown out?
Okay?
But in hindsight, didn’t matter, other than Davante’s health, and we hope he will be back. Kinda interesting when a guy’s mouthguard flies out, he lays motionless on the ground and another player calls for the medical right away, but okay. Done with that.
The Packers were whooping that ass early. They continued whooping that ass late.
Curiously, the Bears continued running the ball in the fourth quarter, even though the game was out of reach. That’s the game plan we thought they’d come in with, but early turnovers screwed that.
This wasn’t even a game, which is typical for Thursday night NFL games, despite the Rams-49ers tilt last week.
All time series, in favor of the Packers, where it belongs.
Fuck the Chicago Bears.
Fuck them.
Funny, wasn’t Monty hoping Davante Adams would die in 2015?
This game had many different dynamics. the Trevathan hit was an unfortunate side note.
Jones’ rushing was inspiring. More concerned about healing-up now. We are 3-1 with 10 days off. life is good.
We got 2 conference & 1 divisional game before the 15-day layoff
As far as the Bears go… Laughing out loud since I was born… These losers have sucked for y whole life… so funny. Losers. 3-year 45 Mill contract for Glennon & traded-up for Trubitsky. Such an ongoing chuckle
Jones now leads the Packers in average per carry, and he did that without breaking a long one. He’s going to be good.
At 3.8 ypc that’s not real good news about the Packers run game. But i agree, he might be a decent runner, he seems to have quickness and some wiggle. He needs more than 4 attempts a game, and it looks like he’ll be getting it.
How many go on IR this week? May need to give deangelo Williams a call.
The hit on Adams was pretty bad. Just me but I woulda made sure clay or someone blew up someone on that piece of shit team. Oldest rivalry in football, might as well bring back the bad blood. It’s tough to have a rivalry when they suck so bad but the bs cheap shots really piss me off. That punt was tipped, really!? The way things have been going, glad the punter came away ok. This Dallas game could be huge, could be a repeat of the atl game if these guys don’t heal up fast.
Heard Randall got benched, could they finally be done with him?
One can only hope. The only thing noteworthy he did was get torched for a touchdown. After that I didn’t see his number out there.
Randall got torched, but clearly he played the wrong coverage. Then he looked like he was complaining about someone else not playing the right position.
One has to wonder if they need to try Randall as safety.
That has been my thought for over a year now. Problem for him though is the packers have good depth at safety, although most of them are strong safety types where he is more of a free safety off of the line of scrimmage
When and if House comes back, Randall may be cut. I’d rather see any rookie or UDFA out there. He’s lost all confidence.
And the Bears still suck. With all the help from the refs they still shit the bed.
I for one am glad to see Glennon pick up where old Cutty left of by completing passes to our DB. He is well worth what he is being paid. LOL
Our new 12th Man…
(off)^^^
I wrote a post or two in the past about what Packer players do when one of their own players takes a cheap shot. Absolutely nothing….and that hasn’t changed.
I will give Jahri Evans respect as he looked, and was verbally pissed off the second after it happened, and he’s the new guy. Rodgers was asked if he thought Trevathan should have been ejected…….
“I trust when Danny said he wasn’t trying to intentionally hit him like that … I don’t think he was intentionally trying to hurt (Davante),” Rodgers said in his postgame press conference.
So…that’s either a non answer, or a no. He’ll stand up for anything i guess, except his teammate.
Watch the play, Trevathan was about 10 yards away, Davante was already wrapped up, but here comes this guy in a full on sprint pretending to be a missile, helmet first. Yea Rodgers, he didn’t do it intentionally. A guy who has played 4 games with us showed better leadership.
This is a team full of cupcakes.
Couldnt agree more PF4L. This Packer team is a fucking disgrace. Not sure im gonna watch another game. How do you not go to bat for that guy? Fucking Mccarthy led team makes me sick. Bunch of pantie wearing babies.
Do you remember when George Carlin would compare the physical aspects of football to baseball, and how baseball players were essentially pussies in comparison to football players? Very funny whenever Carlin did this in on stage, but there is one thing you can say about the game of baseball that is not consistent with the basic punch line of Carlin’s bit. Baseball players retaliate against this kind of shit. If it ever appears to be even remotely intentional when a pitcher plunks a hitter in the head with a 95 mph fastball, you can almost guarantee that the favor will be returned…Maybe not that same game…Maybe not even that same series, but somewhere soon down the road, a hitter from the opposing team is getting plunked in the head. Just a matter of time.
You don’t see this sort of retaliation nearly as much in football. It could certainly be because each game is that much more meaningful in a 16 vs 162 game schedule to worry about seeking revenge for the vicious kind of cheap shot that Trevathan leveled upon Adams, who, as you point out, was already about to go down at the time of the hit. I can respect the ability to show some restraint and not put yourself in a position where the team subjects itself to ejections and 15 yd penalties after retaliating, but in this instance, I do believe the Packers can make an exception. After all, we’re talking about the Bears. RETALIATE!!! November 12th at Soldier Field ought to be circled on the calendar if it isn’t already. There should be a good old-fashioned chop block in Mr. Trevathan’s future!
That baseball analogy is exactly what i cited in the past.
Also…i stated retaliation doesn’t have to come instantly, and it doesn’t have to come from a skilled starter. But especially when the game is well in hand, make no mistake about, it should come from someone.
Couldn’t agree more with you and cornbread. That hit pissed me off but what pissed me off even more was I knew no one would retaliate. I immediately brought up baseball to a bears fan I know and there’s no way I could let someone do that to a teammate of mine and not get them back at some point. Not saying it has to be someone like clay, linsley, Evans or Daniels and risk losing them to suspension but someone. Next time they play let Janis go for a chop block right at his knees, he isn’t gonna play o and isn’t gonna be able to return kicks, let him help out some way. I thought the gb players and coaches were too nice about it after the game. It’s a rivalry, why be political and hold back. Tell it like it is, it was a bs cheap shot and we’ll see him and that sorry shit team again. Unfortunately we know the pack won’t retealiate, they’ll let the league suspend him and it’s over with.
Did PF4L just criticize Aaron Rodgers? WTF.
Yeah, AR is usually pretty careful what he says, but his ambition to be a future NFLPA rep got him talking out of the wrong side of his mouth here.
That’s your boy, one of your top WRs, lying prone on the ground after what the replay will clearly show was an unnecessary and illegal hit with no other purpose than to injure an already tackled player. You may want to see the replay before you take “Danny” s word for it.
It is easy to lock arms with your teammates and pontificate on unity. But when your teammate gets carted to the hospital and you have the choice between defending your boy or taking the “high road” and defending the NFLPA case on CTE against the league, you chose the “high road” and your golden image with the NFLPA instead of your own teammate.
So, I tell you what, next time you decide to lecture us on unity, don’t. Thanks.
If he keeps acting like a marshmellow, it will continue. As always, i’ll give credit when it’s due, but when it’s not, it’s not.
I have my theory as to the change in Rodger’s mindset, and why he thinks he’s now the spoken for the NFLPA on social issues.
*spokesman
Are you just going to ignore the fact that Rodgers had harsh words for some of the Bears players after the play? And also that after the game he said he was angry to see Bears players celebrating when a player is injured and carted off the field?
Well, you couldn’t tell by the love fest on the field between the players after the game.
What about the multiple times lineman have stood up for Rodgers after a late hit? Or Bennett making a hit and drawing a penalty in week one? Or the many players that get in Trevathan’s face after the hit?
I guess you’re just ignoring those.
What should they have done? Punch the guy? Many players let Trevathan know about it.
Your comment couldn’t be more wrong.
whoa….they let him know about huh…bet he won’t do that again….lol.
No one said to punch him, if you think that’s the only form of retaliation, i doubt anyone here is qualified to help you understand it.
Trevathan should have been ejected but he could miss a game or two and be fined. A blind man could see it was intentional.
Trevathan should be suspended. I still say the NFL needs to rethink how they approach suspensions for these type of hits. Many times the player who gets suspended for taking out one of your players misses a game against a team(s) that you may be competing against for a playoff spot. This has the effect some of the time of hurting your team twice. I’m ok with a guy getting suspended for the next game(s), however the player suspended should also miss the next game against the team he made the dirty hit. If that player is not with the team then the offended team should be able to choose the player to miss the next game from the full selection of players at the same position.
I know Rodgers has been taking a lot of hits this year and has been seen chewing out MM during the Bengals game. Who would have guessed that Rodgers would have had enough of the porous line play and confronted MM in his office before the game.
MM “can I help you Aaron?”
AAron “Ya you can start by wiping that fucking grin off those fucking rosy red cheeks. Then you can give me a fucking Patrick, a fucking McCray, a fucking Evans, a fucking Taylor, a fucking Lynsley. I want four fucking guards and a fucking center and I want them right fucking now”
Nobody can replace the biggest bears player ever but man that Glennon guy is realy trying to soften our grief.
From bleacherreport ( and many many others were disgusted ) : An opportunity to do the right thing presented itself Thursday night: Trevathan threw a dirty hit, injured a fellow athlete and deserves the league’s harshest penalty.
Looks like we finaly have a punter so please protect the guy a little and punnish running in to him.
I liked Jones in te preseason lets see how he fares going on.
We all knew the Packers would win this one — short week + Packers at home + Bears after rare win + Bears QB Glennon = Blow Out. The missing OTs were not a factor because the Bears starting rushers are worse than other teams back up o-linemen. But the Bears CBs are even worse than their rushers.
It really is a marvel the Steelers lost to these guys. Then again, they are a very different team in Chicago.
Congrats on finally getting ahead of the Bears in the rivalry. Just by the way, the Vikings are ahead of the Bears 58-52-2. Just saying….
When the Vikings play the Bears at home — if Glennon is still their QB at the time — I predict the Vikings demolish them by more than that 21 point differential. My God, that Glennon is awful. Those two interceptions were just gifts with no receiver nearby just a bunch of Packers. I’m not saying Glennon WAS paid off to throw them but a QB paid off to throw them and what Glennon did looks exactly the same.
And that center snap knee punt forward 15 yards! I’ve never seen anything like it. What a gift. That’ll make NFL follies for certain.
I know it is immature to make fun of looks. Still, Glennon plays exactly the way he looks.
The hit on Adams was terrible. I hope he is OK. I don’t think Trevathan is a dirty player (not like Clay Matthews) — even though when he was a free agent he did want to play for the Packers which does make one suspect a certain dirtiness.
It is a fast game with a lot of moving parts. I’ve seen a lot of head to head hits and very few were intentional.
The hit did look really bad. Refs should have blown it down. At the same time I typically feel it is difficult to suspend a player for a hit on the ball carrier. The optics are bad and it certainly does look intentional, but it happened really fast and the whistle hadn’t blown. I hope Davante is ok.
Bear fans just lost the last thing they could hang there hat on(brag about) over the Packers. We won’t hear from bear fans how they lead the team series.
But luckily for bear fans, they can still take a shit on queen fans, at least the bears won a Super Bowl.
I have heard numerous interviews with players this year and never noticed the obvious company-driven mantra to never say a guy got knocked out. I have heard no less than 3 players discussing the Trevathan hit (one was Jordy) who were about to say “got knocked out” but caught themselves mid-sentence and then altered course with something like, “Yeah it was obvious he got kno-…you could tell he was in a bad way.”
The whole league is in PR mode so moms and dads out there allow their sons to keep playing football. Maybe Rodgers was irate and got on the phone with Goodell after the fact and got the point across he needed to in a way that didn’t hang his sport or commissioner out to dry. Rodgers didn’t have to say anything about believing “Danny” or whether he believed it was intentional or whatever. All he had to say was I think the tape stands for itself and leave it at that.
