Nick Perry’s Annual Injury is Here

It wasn’t if Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Perry would get injured. It was when.

Perry has never made it through a full season and he won’t be starting in 2017. Perry will need hand surgery for the second consecutive season.

Also, Nick Perry is made of glass.

Perry missed two games in 2016 after having hand surgery. This time around the injury is reportedly less severe. Technically, it is more of a finger injury, rather than a hand injury. However, Perry will still have surgery this week.

The Packers’ 2016 sack leader played 53 of 58 snaps in week 2 and finished the game. Then he turned up, along with 12 other players, on the Wednesday injury report.

The Packers do not have a timeline for his return yet.

Although this is bad news for the Packers, there is some good news. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who was sidelined with a concussion, will return to action this week.

We expect to see him in place of Perry in the lineup.

As for Perry, starting with his rookie season and going through last year, he has missed 10, five, one, two and two games due to injury.

Maybe we can keep that to one game this year? Perry would tie his career high for games played if that were the case. A major feat for Glass Joe.

Seriously though. One of our top 3 best defensive players… this really blows a big fatty wiener

We need this guy weeks 5 & 6 at Dallas & Minny

Him and Mike Daniels are probably the top two guys on defense and both are injured. Unless you throw HHCD in there.

Remember when some commentators went “on record” calling Perrys signing a “bargain”? Yea, they actually said that. I asked them to explain……crickets. I’m on record saying what i said. Here we are, we haven’t even played week 3 of of his big new bargain contract and oh, snap…….surgery.

But who could have ever guessed it? It’s not like he had chronic injury history, amirite?

I’m on record saying this team is in no danger of reaching the Super Bowl under this regime, but this season will be entertaining. Cue the circus music.

        Go get em Ted!!

a top 3 defensive player breaks his hand & you make a comment like this? Very “Jonny come lately”

He is built like a tank & a great player on the field.
Of course when he produces… crickets…

No way, in any shape or form, can you compare Perry with Chandler. Chandler got 53 million guaranteed because he earned it.

Considering it’s very realistic Perry stays 2 years, that’s 27 mill coming in, Not bad money for 1 season of 11 sacks.

It’s an insult to Chandler to compare his stats with Perry’s, but both have been in the league 5 years.

            Perry has …
            152 tackles
            23.5 sacks
            5 FF’s

            Chandler has…
            260 tackles
            47 sacks
            14 FF’s

Yes, Chandler has played in more games, that’s because he’s available. Being available and a consistent producer is this league is worth big cash. Two things Perry hasn’t been.

Just for shits and grins…..It should be noted that Perry was 3/10ths of a second faster in the 40. Telling us, combine #’s don’t mean shit.

Btw, in what world do you live in where you consider Perry the top 3rd defensive player in the league?

He might cash in that much, we don’t know yet. That doesn’t mean it’s smart. Signing a guy with injury history to 60 mill for 5 years, after having 1 standout (contract year) season is a gamble. He hasn’t played 1 full season. He’s a reach at that kind of money, plain and simple.

A finger injury? Really? I’m no doctor, but you have to wonder if Nicole Perry just needs to toughen up sooner or later and play through some of these injuries.
