First of all, this is truth.
There is racism.
Don’t know it?
How did you react when three black players sat down on the bench for the National Anthem?
Were you pissed off? Were you pissed off because they were black? Or were you really just pissed off because they sat for the Anthem?
There’s a difference and we respect what those players did and what they were sttingung for.
I would place a wager on the fact that most of those people who were pissed off, wouldn’t dare stand if Aaron Rodgers said don’t stand.
So, react accordingly.
Yes Joseph, if Rodgers told us to sit, most of us would sit and wag our tail like a good puppy. Great analogy.
Sorry, i read your article and reacted accordingly.
In other news, how do the Packers prepare for a football game in 4 days, having social strategy meetings, having cameras stuffed in their faces, making statements about the hot new topic that’s bigger than the football game. THIS….is why they should be protesting on their own time, not at work.
You are totally right. It’s too bad civil rights are so fucked in this country that professional ball players have to take it upon themselves to force people to fix the problem.
You’d think that would be a government thing.
Hopefully, we get the civil rights we are all promised soon, and we can just get back to ball.
PF4L… the games are still being played. Or did you not notice the Packers struggle against the mighty Bengals? The pregame takes the same amount of time.
You act like the players are doing this INSTEAD of work/playing. Just not true. It is IN ADDITION. Just like many of them also do charity work. This is just like that charity work in its various forms. It is helpful, good, constructive, non-violent, makes a positive difference.
Stop lying. To yourself and everyone else.
Such a poor analogy. The issue is WHEN not what or who or why. Do what you want NOT during the anthem. It’s pisses off more than it doesn’t and it should. This started with socks calling police pigs and because trump brought it up people, especially trump haters, latch on like blind lemmings. Stand and respect the anthem 1000’s dies for and make what ever protest you want off the field or especially not during the anthem.
Respect. I was driving.
“Conrad Lariviere, who works in Massachusetts’ Springfield Police Department, commented saying “love this” on a story about a 32-year-old woman being killed and 19 others injured when a car ploughed (sic) into crowds during clashes between white supremacist groups and anti-racism campaigners.
“Hahahaha love this, maybe people shouldn’t block road ways,” he wrote below an article about those injured in the incident.”
What next, prison sentences for jay walking? Fuck that guy. Maybe it should be OK for people that aren’t at work to yell “Fire!!” in a crowded movie theaters or on an airplane. If that cop made those comments from his phone while on duty, should he be fired? If he makes those comments off duty, does that absolve him and protect him under the first amendment? What’s the dividing line there, when is it allowable for people to exercise constitutional rights? Or have we decided that the national anthem is off limits when it comes to citizens exercising constitutional rights? But only during that 90 or so seconds? Go to the bathroom, get another beer or look at porn during that 90 seconds if the protesting is so offensive.
You can fucking twist it any way you want about Trump haters because that street runs both ways friend. Trump didn’t do himself any favors when he went off the deep end and let everyone see what he is really about when he said there were good people on both sides after Heather Heyer was run over and killed. Using that logic, I heard an analogy saying there were good people in the Nazi party who didn’t embrace that but were doing it because, duh, Hitler. If Trump said the moon landings or the holocaust never happened, his supporters would take that shit and, to borrow a quote from you, “latch on like blind lemmings”. Obama’s birth certificate, anyone?
Once the Commander in Chief takes offense to something HOLY FUCKING SHIT the NFL owners ought to fire any players that disrespect the country. Which then turned into disrespecting the military. Which now turned into disrespecting the Anthem? Someone get me a whiteboard. Think maybe that fucking cop from the quote above should be fired considering the position/status he holds within his community? There is NO place in law enforcement for that kind of bullshit anywhere. That asshole should be terminated for cause and never allowed to work in law enforcement again. No Donald to call that out, so it must be OK right? And I don’t see where that guy has been fired yet, only “under investigation” in the 30 seconds I looked.
Until or unless somebody DIES from protesting peacefully for 90 seconds during a sporting event, STFU with that ignorant Trump hater bullshit rhetoric. It is truly frightening how many racist pieces of shit there really are in this country willing to use Donald fucking Trump as an excuse for their behavior while also painting him as some sort of authority on business etiquette and constitutional interpretation. As the owner of a team of a failed sports venture to compete with the NFL, sounds like Donald is still more than a little bitter and doing what he does best, alienating everyone around him.
Last time I looked, I thought it was a “national anthem, and not a military anthem.”
Fuck you kato you condescending cunt. You go ahead and kneel with the lowlifes or lock arms or whatever little pussy gesture makes you feel all special. I am a combat veteran of two wars and I choose not to disrespect my NATIONAL Anthem… If anybody is interested at this point, isn’t it obvious to all but the blind that this isn’t about racism at all? Colin Krappernack’s God Damned girl friend burrowed into his tiny head and got him to take his retarded stand for the express purpose of creating the division we see here today. This blatant anti-Americanism has become mainstream chic and is poisoning the minds of the non-thinking sheeple (such as your smug, know it all self) currently occupying this nation. Wake the fuck up.
Since the media, and this website, can’t get enough of this dirty divisive laundry to drive ratings and hits. Can someone, anyone, speak out for these innocent victims?
Taalya L. Kelly jumped up and down in celebration after hearing the gunfire that left an 8-year-old girl bleeding in a house on Milwaukee’s north side, according to a criminal complaint. The shooter was someone named “Tato” whom Kelly, 18, had summoned to shoot up the house in the 2600 block of N. 49th St. following a fight July 31, according to the complaint.
Six-year-old Justin Evans Jr. was about to leave on a fishing trip with his stepdad when he was shot and killed in his grandmother’s yard Saturday evening.
This 2 nights ago….Seven-year-old Cameron Gouveia is recovering from a gunshot wound at a local hospital after he was shot while laying on the couch asleep inside his family’s home on Hampton Avenue near 40th Monday night.
This is the 21st child to be shot in Milwaukee so far this year. Three of those children were killed.
Here’s the thing, protesting (on your time) injustice, racial profiling, unjust killings, etc is a real and commendable worthwhile action to take.
But what about these kids? Whose standing up for them? This is just a small sample lately in Milwaukee. Imagine the tally across our great Nation. If this these child shootings and killings aren’t enough to protest about and demand change, i don’t know what is. I’m sorry Michael Bennett got detained for 10 minutes, but what about the 6 year old boy who lost his life…for absolutely nothing.
And yes, Trump should be bringing attention to these issues vs. going off at the mouth about the protesters, further inflaming a divisive issue.
Sorry Marty I don’t give a fuck about your wittle feewings…especially when you’re on the clock. Maybe try working on pass catching fundamentals to eliminate your drops rather than being a SJW
In other news, has anyone else had issues with this site on mobile devices? The website has been literal dogshit. Half the time I can’t even access it. And it has been super slow at times.
Yes. I have been banned twice in the last two weeks for long periods by the security firm. The site has helped get me back on when I got to a place that I could contact. Now I keep getting a time out message or a message that makes it sound like the security thinks I’m a robot and can’t access for long periods. When I do get on I keep having the site reload and it deletes any comment I may be making. Right now is the first chance I have had for last 24 hours. Maybe whatever the problem is has been corrected. If not I may not be commenting for a while again.
There are a lot of comments saying that the protests should occur during the national anthem. I disagree. I think that is a great time to do it. It’s a big stage, so the message will reach a lot more people that way. If instead the players were to protest on their own time, the message would obviously not spread to nearly as many people. If for some reason you don’t like the protests that are spreading awareness of injustice, just wait until kickoff of the game and then turn on your TV.
With all that said, what happens next is important. My hope is that action is taken throughout the country to help solve the problems. Following that, eventually the protests will go away.
You should proof read before hitting reply, concerning when the protest should occur.
Yes Korn, we understand why they do it during the Anthem.
Just wait until kick-off? Why? The announcers won’t keep talking about it during the game?
Lastly…. Let me try to understand you. So you’re saying the protest will stop when all the these racial problems and injustices are solved?
I guess they’ll be protesting until the end of time….Sorry my man, these protest unfortunately will not solve anything. But the reality for sports fans is, the protesters are losing focus, some of them looking the fool, and the public will reject them shortly and we can tune in to watch football again. If i want a political discussion on social matters, profiling, or racial inequality, i’ll turn on CCN, or MSNBC. If i want to watch an NFL game, I just want to watch an NFL game.
