Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers will tell you they have a great relationship. And maybe they do, but there have been clear instances where they haven’t see eye to eye.
Here’s one of them.
On Sunday, Rodgers thought McCarthy sent in a play that was… a stupid fucking call. There really isn’t any interpretation necessary here.

Pretty clear.
That’s the franchise flexing some muscle there. Fat Mike probably thinks he’s still in charge.

Classic. Another year of the Beav and Co. riding Rodgers into the ground. Boneheaded calls are the norm. Deceptively weak team that pads their record on lesser opponents, and barely beats teams they should be stomping. They’re gonna get blown out of the playoffs when the defense gives up 500 yards to a competent, faster, harder-hitting team. Rodgers just existing is good for 21 points a game, at the least. But if you’re in a 3-4 TD hole midway through QTR 2, you’re not even giving him a chance.
The optimists look at a game like yesterday like “they did it, great gritty win!” Wake me up when the 2017 Packers look like a team anyone in the playoffs will be scared of. I’ll eat my crow. Of course the Bengals offense looked fixed against a Capers scheme. Jones and King are legit, at least.
For reference: This was in-between the second and third plays of their drive.
Two plays before this:
1st and 10 at GB 38
(2:41 – 3rd) (Shotgun) A.Rodgers scrambles right end to CIN 49 for 13 yards (S.Williams).
The play before this:
1st and 10 at CIN 49
(1:55 – 3rd) (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete short right to T.Montgomery [C.Dunlap].
The play after this:
2nd and 10 at CIN 49
(1:50 – 3rd) (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass short right to G.Allison to CIN 40 for 9 yards (W.Jackson). Balled tipped at the line of scrimmage by 96-C. Dunlap. Play still resulted in completion.
There was another close up of ARodge after a delay of game call where Rodgers looked to the bench and then as plain as day said, “Get the fucking call in.”
That fucking Buffoon needs to go ASAP.
I don’t think he is saying stupid call. It looked like he said something else. Although he was clearly angry.
Remember, the Packers were 8-12 from mid 2015 until mid 2016. During that time Rodgers had around an 80 QB rating. I thought he was done because it was a 30 point drop in his QB rating, but as he started playing well again, I think he was just fed up with things.
I think he and McCarthy clearly have issues. I wouldn’t be shocked if things go south on this team that Rodgers simply gives up which would cause the Packers to not win any more games. At least the defense held up their end of the game in this one. That may placate him for while.
