Why the Green Bay Packers’ took so long to sign third-round pick Montravious Adams is a mystery.
As of Wednesday, Adams was only one of nine 2017 draft picks left unsigned. He was the only third-round pick. Now, there’s only one unsigned second-rounder and seven first-rounders.
The point is — as we’ve said many times — the collective bargaining agreement established in 2011 created a rookie salary pool. Rookie deals are now based on where you were drafted. It’s pretty much that simple.
What took Adams and the Packers so long?
These things are usually a result of some offset language in the contract. The devil is in the details.
The most important thing is this, however. The Packers’ 2017 draft class is entirely signed. Adams concludes that, meaning everyone will be ready to go when training camp begins later this month.
Thank God.
Counting on this kid.
Now we fixed the D-Line, we fixed the secondary, We fixed ilb finally. Defense and special teams should be top 5 this season. This Packers team has no weakness. This team is so strong Trent Dilfer could be our QB and we’d still win. We don’t even need Rodgers.
The only question left is how do i score tickets to watch my Packers annihilate the Patriots at Super Bowl LII?
In Ted we Trust!!
