We all know the refrain. The Green Bay Packers’ defense sucks just about every year and that’s why they lose in the playoffs.
And despite promoting the good things the 2016 Packers’ defense did all offseason, defensive lineman Mike Daniels seems to be coming around to that general consensus. That the defense hasn’t been very good.
Guess what. He’s not too happy about it.
“That’s a terrible impression. It makes me sick,” Daniels said. “I take it personal every single day. I know I do. It’s been six years now. Something’s got to shake. We’ve got to step up and take pride in this thing.”
“We have to take it personal. You have to get pissed off that people are saying, ‘You guys suck on defense’ every year,” Daniels said. “People are like, ‘Oh it’s the defense’s fault. Oh, the defense is terrible. Oh man, we need to get Aaron (Rodgers) a defense.’ That’s got to make you angry to the point where you’re like, ‘I’m going to shut these people up.'”
Is this the year the Packers’ defense finally shuts people up?
That’s tough to say. They can be as angry as they want, but guys need to perform. It would help if they could avoid injury as well.
At this point, we’re just in wait-and-see mode.
Man..we gotta get Daniels and that awsome D a legit qb!
What would help is if the defense could hold offenses to a 17 to 20 point a game average.
That’s just crazy talk.
Still hittin the bottle huh?
