Welcome to the continuing saga of why the hell is Letroy Guion still a member of the Green Bay Packers.
As you’ll recall, Guion was arrested for drunk driving in Hawaii on his birthday. During the arrest, he admitted to drinking Hennessy and also begged to be let go.
Why did he beg to be let go? Probably because he’s already serving a four-game NFL suspension to open the season.
An additional incident — like an offseason DUI — is likely to result in additional games on unpaid leave.
Guion is obviously trying to mitigate the damage. He’s going to trial in August for this offense. His attorney is seeking witnesses to the arrest.
Guion was pulled over for drifting between lanes. His blood alcohol level was 0.086, according to police. Our assumption is the argument will either be that there was no probable cause or the threat of a trial is just a ploy to force a deal for a lesser charge.
Either way, the arrest alone is enough for the NFL to act.
By the way, if you’re an NFL player — hire a damn driver. You can afford it!
Hope the jury of his peers are Packer People.
He should be going to the unemployment line. What a tool.
I hope they throw the book at him. Fucking idiot.
