Greg Jennings likes to be critical of the Green Bay Packers for whatever reason. He hammered coach Mike McCarthy last week for not going for the throat when the Packers had a lead. That’s definitely something we’ve all thought or said at one time or another. So it isn’t as if it’s untrue, it’s just surprising that Jennings said it.
Naturally, it got back to quarterback Aaron Rodgers through the media. What was Rodgers’ response?
Pretty much what you would expect. He toed the company line.
Rodgers said he wasn’t concerned with “…comments coming from outside the facility, especially by people who haven’t been around the facility in a number of years…”
He went on to praise McCarthy.
“I’ve made it pretty well known how I feel about Mike,” Rodgers said. “He’s our leader and…we follow his lead and we love Mike. We believe in him, and he believes in us, and so we got his back.”
There’s certainly no love loss between Rodgers and Jennings. When Jennings signed with the Minnesota Vikings, he threw more than one shot Rodgers’ way. He also said the Packers brainwashed players.
Rodgers, of course, took the high road. However, in retirement, Jennings has continued to be critical of the Packers and at times, Rodgers.
We’re sure Jennings will continue to talk. We’re sure Rodgers will continue to ignore. Unfortunately, we’re also sure McCarthy will fail to run up the score now or anytime soon.
I’m still pissed about this whole Datone Jones scenario …
Hmmmm….for a so called religious guy, Jennings sure does sling a lot of petty BS. There has to be something in his bible about acting like a turd like that.
I have found, in my experiences, a large percentage of religious people are hypocrites.
Really? Very insightful kato. Thank you for your knowledgeable input.
Fuck Greg Jennings and Mike McCarthy.
