He was released earlier this week. He said goodbye, but punter Jake Schum is somehow back with the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers brought Schum back and put him on the reserve/injured list after he cleared waivers, on Friday.
Frankly, we are not entirely sure why or what that potentially means for Schum, other than he’ll probably get some sort of paycheck for the time being.
Undrafted rookie Justin Vogel is currently the only punter on the Packers’ active roster. The punting job would appear to be his to lose.
It’s also unclear what Schum’s injury is, although the Packers will eventually have to either activate him or release him again.
I say they just go for it every 4th down so I don’t have to watch and wait for the punter to shank it. Cut all the punters, if it’s 4th and 40 from your own 1 yard line just chuck it out of the endzone for a safety.
