This may be coincidence or circumstance, but Davante Adams, who came on strong in his third season with the Green Bay Packers, is working out with rookie seventh-round pick Malachi Dupre.
As we’ve noted, Dupre had himself a strong offseason program and has the talent to be a draft-day steal if he can transition that to regular-season, on-the-field success.
Working out with Adams probably won’t hurt. Entering his fourth season, Adams knows the playbook and, more importantly, he knows what quarterback Aaron Rodgers expects.
If he can pass any of that on to Dupre, the rookie stands a decent chance of making the final roster at a crowded position.
The pair, along with some other NFL receivers, are working out with Nebraska Cornhuskers receivers coach Keith Williams.
When I think of Nebraska football, I think of the frickin’ wishbone, but I imagine things have probably changed. Why Williams?
We couldn’t find the answer to that.
What we did find was the fact that Williams was convicted of his third DUI back in February. He got 30 days in jail and three years probation.
So let’s hope Adams and Dupre aren’t getting sauced up every night they’re in Lincoln.

If you look a little deeper you would find that Williams coached Adams in his freshman year at Fresno State. Williams is also partially credited with recruiting Adams to Fresno State. My guess is that answers the why Williams question.
