There was plenty we liked about the Green Bay Packers’ selection of Vince Biegel in the fourth round of the draft.
Wisconsin boy. Leader. Hard worker. Filled the pass rush need. This.

Perhaps the one thing not to like was Biegel’s injury history. He broke his foot during his senior year at Wisconsin and then came back after missing only two games. He was rather ineffective the remainder of the year.
Certainly, we all know the Packers don’t always have good luck drafting guys with an injury history. Justin Harrell comes immediately to mind.
This week, Biegel had surgery.
The surgery was to repair a Jones fracture in the same foot Biegel injured last year.
All is not lost here, though. Biegel is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. He will miss valuable OTA and minicamp time, however.
Hopefully, the surgery takes care of the injury once and for all.
The Packers will be counting on Biegel, along with Kyler Fackrell and Jayrone Elliott, to provide depth at outside linebacker behind oft-injured starters Clay Matthews and Nick Perry.
