The Green Bay Packers may not be done with free agency quite yet. The Packers have reportedly inquired about veteran offensive lineman Cody Wallace.
#Packers #Saints among teams to inquire about former #Steelers C Cody Wallace. Free agent says he's still rehabbing knee injury
— Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) May 19, 2017
Wallace is entering his ninth season in the NFL. He’s spent the last four with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wallace injured his knee last November and spent the remainder of the season on injured reserve. He started all 16 games for the Steelers at center in 2015, his only season as a full-time starter.
Obviously, if the Packers make a move here, they’d be looking at Wallace as offensive line depth. At the moment, it would appear that backup guard Don Barclay would also be the answer at backup center.
Considering Corey Linsley’s injury history — he’s missed 10 games in three seasons — it might not be a bad idea to have some additional insurance.
