It looks like the Tony Romo saga is over for now and that has everyone whipping out their favorite Romo story.
Romo is headed to CBS, where he’ll replace Phil Simms in the booth. It concludes a 13-year playing career, all of which was spent with the Dallas Cowboys. It may have been completely different if Romo played elsewhere.
Like, say, with the Green Bay Packers.
Annual story: at end of 2003 draft, scout in our Packers War Room yelled "Anyone want to sign this guy Romo? He's from Wisconsin." Crickets.

That would have been during Mike Sherman’s lackluster reign as general manager. It’s probably a good thing for Romo the Packers weren’t interested.
Brett Favre would play five more seasons in Green Bay. The Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers two years later, in 2005. Romo probably wouldn’t have lasted long in Green Bay or he wouldn’t have gotten on the field.
Instead, he threw for more than 34,000 yards in Dallas.
