I think my mother would be thrilled about this… except she voted for Donald Trump for some reason.
Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett was a member of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots last season. The Patriots visited the White House on Wednesday. A lot of guys didn’t show up because, well, because… Donald Trump.
Anyway, Chelsea Handler, who I don’t find funny at all, but my mother thinks is hysterical, did some stuff with Bennett yesterday, when he was supposed to be taking his White House visit.
And as a Green Bay Packers fan, you probably realize exactly what’s going 0n here.
- Players no longer on the team don’t usually get invited to the White House anyway, and…
- The Packers started offseason workouts this week and Bennett was most assuredly in attendance.
In other words, this appears to be a farce in terms of timing and legitimacy. I mean, is it possible Bennett caught a late-afternoon flight to L.A. from Green Bay?
Maybe slightly possible.
It could maybe even be probable if he chartered a plane. And who the hell knows?
These workouts are technically voluntary, but they’re not really “voluntary,” as we all know.
All of that just seems unlikely, doesn’t it?
Anyway, even if it was all a ruse, here it is.
