Ego Ferguson Era in Green Bay Over Before It Started
The Green Bay Packers made a move by claiming defensive lineman Ego Ferguson off waivers from the Chicago Bears on Monday. As of Wednesday, it is a non-move.
Ferguson failed his physical and was released.
It’s kind of comical in a way. Here’s a guy who was a second-round pick in 2014, the only season he’s managed to play in all 16 games. In 2015, Ferguson was put on injured reserve after four games with a knee injury. He was then suspended four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. In 2016, he didn’t play in a game, spending the entire year on IR with a shoulder injury.
Cleary, the Packers found something troubling with Ferguson’s injury history when he showed up in Green Bay.
So Ferguson will not be trying to live up to his potential in Green Bay or maybe anywhere else.
Jerel Worthy, anyone? What is it with Big Ted and sucky second-round defensive linemen?
Personally, I think that anyone not good enough to be on the Chicago Bears’ roster, sure as hell shouldn’t be on the Packers’ roster.
