Drew Brees knows a few things about quarterbacking, so the praise he just heaped on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is pretty noteworthy.
Brees was specifically discussing the sideline throw Rodgers made to tight end Jared Cook in the playoff game in Dallas. While discussing prospect Deshaun Watson, Brees called that throw the most amazing ever.
“It’s funny, I feel like Aaron Rodgers has cursed us all,” Brees said.
“(Watson) was getting ready for his pro day, so I was kind of watching some of the stuff he was doing to structure his pro day. I thought it was interesting, trying to show NFL coaches like, ‘I can make these types of throws.’ It’s like, the throw that seems to be in all these quarterbacks’ pro days is they script the old, ‘Scramble out here, and then the Green Bay-Dallas throw to Jared Cook to put ’em in field goal range at the end.’ The one that they were like is the most amazing throw ever — which it was, it was pretty impressive.
“But I think all these guys are like, ‘Hey, look, I can do that.’ But not quite like Aaron.”
Want to see it again?
Of course you do.
FACT: It doesn't get any better than this Jared Cook sideline grab.

If you recall, the origins of that play went something like “everybody run to the left.”
Just drawing stuff up in the dirt.
I think sometimes fans take throws like these from Rodgers for granted…Nobody is shocked when it happens, they acknowledge how good it was, but it’s nothing they haven’t seen before from Rodgers.
When some of the greatest QB’s in the NFL, like the Brady’s, Manning’s, Bree’s, praise Rodgers for certain throws, or the totality of the game, or his skill level. That should give Packer fans pause, as to what they have, and cherish it, because it won’t be around forever….Although, because we’ve had 25+ years of HOF QB’s it seems like the norm…..of course…until that 1st season….when it isn’t there anymore.
I also think that if Jared Cook doesn’t make that catch, He’s maybe looking at a contract of around 3 million vs the 5 mill/year he signed for. His catch rate already wasn’t that good, but that catch made him some money imo.
