Guard T.J. Lang visited with the Seattle Seahawks after finishing his visit of the Super Bowl trophy-less facilities of the Detroit Lions. From what I can gather, the decision on where to play is down to Seattle and the Green Bay Packers.
I’m giving the edge to the Seattle Seahawks.
Lang is expected to make a decision by Sunday, but the most ominous sign, if you’re a Packers fan, is above.
After concluding his visit, Lang followed the Seahawks’ Twitter account.
He can always unfollow it, of course, but Lang was clearly impressed with the pitch.
I can tell you another thing. If you’ve never been to Seattle, it is by far superior to Green Bay or Detroit, even if you’re from there, as Lang is.
And you damn well know they can win some football games too, so it’s not like Lang would be trading caviar for a slice of burnt toast, like he would with a move to the Lions.
Lang reportedly said he would give the Packers a chance to match any offer he receives. We’re going to bet the Seahawks played this right and the number will be out of the Packers’ price range.
Here’s my guess: four years, $48 million, $16 million guaranteed.
Stay tuned.
