When the Green Bay Packers re-signed Christine Michael on Wednesday, it seemed their running back picture was finally clear. The Packers had Ty Montgomery, Michael, second-year undrafted free agent Don Jackson and they would draft one or two backs in April.
The Packers appear to be hedging their bets, however. The wild card is former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
Some fans have been screaming for the Packers to sign Peterson all offseason. The Packers have shown little interest. They reportedly do have “some” interest, however, according to Ben Goessling.
The Green Bay Packers have some interest in a visit with Peterson, but it’s believed that might not happen until after the team can take stock of its roster following the draft.
So the picture isn’t totally hazy. The Packers clearly are not enamored with the backs they have on the roster. And why would they be?
Of the three, only Montgomery has shown the potential to be a No. 1 back.
The Packers will see how the chips fall in the draft. If they’re able to pick a back or two, then Peterson — if he’s still available — won’t be a Packer. If the Packers aren’t able to add the back or backs they want, then we might see Adrian Peterson in a Packers uniform after all.
Over the hill running back coming off an injury with a history of fumble problems? Please NO.
He will at least hit the guys that are not producing.
Spare me for such horror please. Don’t let Rose Arbes spent her live savings on a hitman.
The packers exhibit interest in a lot of people. *yawn*
Anyone here old enough to remember when the Packers made a trade in 1993 for a washed up Eric Dickerson, who ended up failing a physical two days later? That’s what this Peterson rumor reminds me of. What’s next? Jim Brown is coming out of retirement?
Who the F is Ben Goessling? Nothing but clickbait, no source, no nothing, nothing but another hack.
I mean…did he dream this? He doesn’t even credit, a “source”.
He’ll want too much money, besides the issues Pack Attack raised, rb isn’t a priority on this team, he’s not a 3 down back, he’s not a good blocker or receiver. why would anyone with any common sense spend valuable resources acquiring this train wreck?
Fake click bait breeds more fake click bait. Does anyone do any real reporting anymore?
Try MSNBC
