Packers Being “Frugal” With Jared Cook

File this under Hard To Believe, Not Really. Even though tight end Jared Cook is one of the Green Bay Packers two must-sign free agents, there appears to be little progress on that front.

The Packers have had conversations with Cook and that’s about it.

The Packers are being frugal…

On one hand, that’s fine. There’s no need to break the bank for Cook, who had 30 catches for 377 yards in the regular season. Despite his playoff success (18 for 229), there probably isn’t a huge market for his services. Plus, the Packers know he wants to play with Aaron Rodgers and likely wants to taste the playoffs again after he did so for the first time in his career, last season.

The Packers do hold some leverage.

On the other hand, GET THE DAMN DEAL DONE!

    Just resign him.

If they don’t resign this guy they don’t want to win. I’d bet he wants to play here. I can hear Ted saying “We’ll just draft a TE, don’t over pay him, I will find the next Antonio Gates UDFA basketball player”

Teddy T is still hoping Cook will leave town so Richard Rodgers will get more playing time and suddenly become a great pro bowl TE thus making Thompson look brilliant… which he is not but yearns to be seen as.

“Active in free agency”? 83% of Tibetan monks are more active in NFL free agency than TT. He will be actively helping J.C. Ttetter pack his suitcases, he will actively drive T.J. Lang to the airport after alienating him, and, who knows, maybe he will actively wave goodbye to Cook.

PS I’m starting to think TT will lose Perry also.

I’m starting to think the queens will never, ever win a Super Bowl…what say you Nancy?

No accountability with tt or McCarthy.
