Maybe the Green Bay Packers have decided not to sign their own guys in order to bring in some high-powered, outside free agents.
Linebacker Nick Perry appears to be on his way out the door and it looks like defensive back Micah Hyde is too. Hyde is reportedly “aggressively pursuing” other offers, which sounds pretty damning for the Packers.
S Micah Hyde is said to be “aggressively pursuing other options” out of the #Packers. Looks like he’s out the door. 2 other strong offers
While we’d love to have Hyde back, he’s a man without a position in Green Bay.
Most of us think he’s an ideal safety. In fact, he’d be a better centerfielder than Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who, like Morgan Burnett, is better suited to play near the line of scrimmage.
Think about it. Hyde is much better in coverage than either guy, but doesn’t have the speed to play outside corner.
Unfortunately for him, the Packers aren’t benching either Clinton-Dix or Burnett, even if they should. Too much invested in them.
We’re pretty sure Hyde wants a starting job and someone other than the Packers is probably willing to give him one (plus a lot more money).
So while this sucks for the Packers and their already-joke of a secondary, it makes perfect sense for Hyde.
