Hey, Martellus Bennett Can Block Too

One of the things that I really enjoy about the Green Bay Packers signing Martellus Bennett is that, not only is he an upgrade in the passing game over Jared Cook, but he can also beat some ass.

And first, no offense to Jared Cook. That’s the type of player the Packers have needed for a long time.

They just have a better version of him now.

None of the Packers’ tight ends have been able to block for shit since… I don’t know.

The Toolbox, Eddie West?

Richard Rodgers — total garbage. Jermichael Finley — couldn’t care less. Stinky Chumm-ra — well, maybe, but 18-year-olds, Dude.

What I’m saying is the Packers have an actual tight end who can block and who blocks well for the first time since at least the 90s.

To whit.

There’s our boy Marty telling Chandler Jones — a Pro Bowler, a guy who just got $53 million guaranteed — to go fuck himself.

And look, that’s one play.

Maybe Martellus Bennett gets blown up from time to time.

We all do. But I like a guy who gives a shit, takes pride in his craft, works to refine every aspect of it and does his best when he’s tested.

You want some of me? Well, fine. You best bring your A game and let the best man win.

Those are the traits of a bad motherfucker.

I like the signing of Bennett and Kendricks. We’re going to be seeing a lot of dual TE sets. Maybe we are trying to emulate the way the Pat’s do things. Just need to sign a CB and OLB now and we might have a shot to make son noise next year. I say we roll the dice on AP and have Ty as our 3rd down.

Sign AP? …Why would Ty be the 3rd down back…his blocking skills?….WOW!!

So we got a tight end who can block…that’s terrific…because then he can help Barclay.

      Green Bay Packers Free Agency….WINNING!!!

More importantly PF4L, this team needs a defense. This team needs to sign Connor Barwin and draft a really good corner. Or heck sign Darius Butler.

And Big Gay Clay, I wouldn’t sign AP. He is washed up and his best days are behind him. Do you really want a washed up child abuser who’s best days are behind him? I would rather draft McCaffrey, Cook, or Foreman from Texas.

Keith Jackson was one helluva blocking TE & he was after Ed West

Actually, this is the one thing i like about MB…he can block

Like the Kendricks and Bennett signings. Both will make our passing game better and give us a TE duo the Packers didn’t have since 1996. Bennett is better than Cook and twice the guy he will ever be. Don’t get me wrong, I like Cook, and he was a good player with us but Bennett is a better blocking TE than Cook. I will miss Cook, especially that catch that ended the “We Dem Boyz, Dak Attack, and Feed Zeke hype” but I think Bennett will make us all forget about Cook. You will see.

As for the defense, since we missed out on corners, TT should draft a really good one as the cornerback class is very deep, but please, no more UCLA guys. I want a really good corner like Adoree Jackson, Desmond King, or Sydney Jones. We should also sign Barwin sometimes this week (he is visiting the Bengals today) since he is a 3-4 linebacker/defensive end but if you sign him, sign him for a cheap price. Don’t overpay him, sign him for a good deal and good price.

As for TT, I would see how next season plays out. If Pack misses playoffs or not win the SB next year, he shouldn’t be getting a new extension. If they do win it all, he should. Bottom line is that hopefully Wolf takes over because I feel like it is time for a fresh start with the best QB in the league. We need to save him from retiring with one leg or do what Manning did. As I said, I think this could be TT’s final year, unless if we get over the hump next season. Who knows? The Pats could probably win it all. But anyways, GO PACK!
