Christine Michael Is Back With Packers… For Now

That escalated quickly.

The Green Bay Packers brought free agent running back Christine Michael in for a visit today and they apparently signed him on the spot.

RB Christine Michael has re-signed with the Packers, per @FieldYates.

Michael also confirmed it on Instagram.

So there’s your running back depth if your a Packers fan. Ty Montgomery and Christine Michaels — the same two guys who filled the same two No. 1 and No. 2 positions last season.

When the Packers aren’t getting worse this offseason, at least they’re staying exactly the same.

Seriously, I will draw two conclusions here.

First, this likely eliminates any notion of signing someone like Adrian Peterson or Jamaal Charles… or at least it should. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if both of those guys went unsigned, period. They’re both old for running backs and both are coming off knee injuries.

Second, I still expect the Packers to draft a running back (or even two). That could mean the well-traveled Michael will be traveling again.

For the time being, at least the Packers have a little depth at the position.

I like this guy. He’s fast at least. Unlike every RB in GB since Ahman Green.

Ferris is correct! Michael has good speed and power. Also he`s not fat! Can run back kickoffs! unlike Lacy! All you people on here are so down because Lacy is gone. He wasn`t a dedicated athlete! Michael and Ty did pretty well those last 6 games or so didn`t they? The Packers will draft a running back and maybe bring in another FA.

Eddie Lacy did everything in his power, to give the Packers a reason not to bring him back. whether he rises or falls in Seattle, it’s immaterial.

I just don’t see the Packers drafting 2 backs, regardless of what some scout said. Too many other needs.

Seahawk fans are going to be brutal on Lacy if he doesn’t produce. http://seahawkswire.usatoday.com/2017/03/19/best-eddie-lacy-weight-memes-because-you-know-youve-been-wanting-them/

I was thinking the same thing. They have too many holes to fill to draft two unproven running backs and let Michael walk. Unless Ted can out Ted himself and try to sign guys for cheaper.

Good. The need at rB is not as pressing now. Still, a RB for the future can be picked at a late round. One less thing to expect from the draft. Now if we sign the T/G Bell we have another body to compete for the RG spot. Almost done…

lol…..All our needs can be fixed in the draft, we have Ted Thompson!!…..My Man!! :)

It is worth the camp roster spot to see if Michael can use an off season to pickup the offense including play adjustments at the line, and pass protection.

Good point Howard, that boy was lost out there.
