Jordy Nelson Also Knows What Success Is

We’ve talked about the meaning of success. We’ve talked about the differing opinions among the Green Bay Packers’ hierarchy and players of that meaning.

There’s really only one meaning of the word as it pertains to the Packers: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

Seriously. Look it up.

Mike McCarthy and Mark Murphy always like to amend that definition after the season. McCarthy sets the goal as a championship at the beginning of the season and then when the Packers fall short, he tells us how they still had a successful season.

Well, by what definition, Mike?

Certainly not by the definition of the actual word success.

After McCarthy last told us how successful the Packers were during the season, tackle David Bakhtiari came out and called the season a failure. We would agree. It was fun at times, but ultimately, the Packers failed to reach their goal.

Receiver Jordy Nelson also apparently agrees.

What’s really interesting to us, is the players — many of them, anyway — seem to be on the same page. Add Aaron Rodgers and his “reload” comments to Nelson and Bakhtiari and there seems to be quite a bit of lament.

That another season has gone down the drain without a title.

And yet you find no such thing with management. All they do is point to the playoffs and say, we’re in them every year and therefore we are successful (amended). Part of it has to be that those guys have been around for years. They’ll probably be around for many years to come if they want to be.

The players, meanwhile, realize how short their NFL lifespans are. That gives them urgency, the want and need to do it now and a realistic definition of success.

The coaches, the GM and the president have no such thing. And why would they? They can all take their sweet-ass time getting around to another title.

” They can all take their sweet-ass time getting around to another title.”

I don’t think so, the moment Rodgers is gone they can’t even meet there own definition of succes getting to the play offs that is.

I didn’t realize you have to achieve your goal to be successful. My life goal is to make enough money to support my wife, children, grandchildren, ect while being able to supply them with a great life with a lot of experiences. If I were to fall short and just support my family, maybe do a couple nice vacations and help my children get through college with minimal loans, does that make my quest a failiure? No, it makes it successful, but maybe not the pinnacle, what my ultimate goal was. It is like what Jordy said, “it is not a full success unless we win a championship.” To me, that implies he thought the season was successful, but they fell short of their goal. I am sure if you asked MM the same question, if he thought the season was a total success, he would say no. But keep hating on him.

Say, if only our QB played better in the 2014 NFC championship game, we may have two trophies. Sorry, 5 turnovers forced by the defense and 120 yards from your ground game should put your QB in pretty damn good position to make enough plays to win the game. That didn’t happen.

      Two trophies huh kato?

Keep doing all the heavy thinking. Nice job.

So, was it then a “partial success”…maybe a “sort of success”? “Kind of a success”?….vs a total success?

So Brandon Bostick had nothing to do with it. Clinton Dix had nothing to do with it? Sam Barrington had nothing to do with it? The defense had nothing to do with it? How did God possibly make something as stupid as you?

Under Kato’s watchful eye….If the Packers don’t make the Super Bowl it’s because of Rodgers. no one else…ALL Rodgers fault.

This is the kind of person who measures a QB’s talent, by the number of SB rings.

The thought process of the retarded.

Vegas needs to set the over/under for the number of articles and comments PF4L won’t be “correcting” this year.

    I’m taking the under.

I doubt Vegas cares…..but regardless, it’s my pleasure teaching, providing reality and truth to commenters such as yourself, and most importantly….

      You’re welcome.
