Now that we know the Green Bay Packers actually have a game to play this week, we can start to wonder about the health of receiver Jordy Nelson again.
Nelson missed Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys because of broken ribs. That didn’t slow the Packers’ offense down, but surely they’d love to have their No. 1 receiver back on the field for the NFC Championship game.
Will they?
That isn’t certain. Nelson said he is feeling better than last week, but wouldn’t make any proclamations about his availability.
“No, there’s no guarantees. We’re a whole week away,” Nelson said.
Nelson spent Sunday’s win in street clothes on the sideline. The original plan was to allow him to practice on Saturday to see if he could play on Sunday. The Packers ended up abandoning that and ruled Nelson out on Friday.
We would expect that plan to actually play out this week.
Apparently the rumor was that Nelson broke 3 ribs. Stacy Dales interviewed him yesterday and asked him if that was the case.
Nelson refused to answer the question. Leaving no doubt he takes Fat Mikes gag order seriously.
Good thing that SECRET didn’t get out. That could have changed the outcome of the game.
Fat Mike = Gamesmanship.
Pure brilliance.
In a side note: The Packers told the media that Nelson isn’t ruled out of Sunday’s game. I believe that about as much as i believed it last week.
